Union Songs

According to John Steinbeck, in his introduction to Hard Hitting Songs for Hard Hit People, “The songs of the working people have always been their sharpest statement and the one statement which cannot be destroyed. . . .  You can learn more about people by listening to their songs than in any other way, for into the songs go all the hopes and hurts, the angers, fears, the wants and aspirations.”

  1. I feel that that is completely what life and our play are based around. Our lives are based around sounds an music and to really embrace real life our play needs to embrace the sounds and music to bring the show to life.

  2. I've realized that when foreign people get angry or are feeling a strong emotion, they start speaking their foreign language. It would add so much intensity to our characters. Are we(or just one of us) allowed to do that?
