The song after Nate says, “knock it
off” is Solidarity Forever.
Levels
Signs are covering faces
Louder – voices are drifting. Remember that Cooper has a dead space
center stage.
Work on accents!
When it is slow motion, make sure it
is slow motion.
Strikers, be moving at different paces
with different walks.
In the radio scene with Frank, Reg,
look at your watch to tell Paige to turn the radio on.
Learn beats to song with train. Slow motion
between beats, then an exaggerated motion to start the big beats. Scatter
when song stops.
Stand straight forming each gate.
Everyone needs to be as loud as Hayden
and Jared when singing.
Freeze when you are supposed to.
Can anyone help cut the signs
down? I don’t want my husband to
because I yelled about getting it done in a hurry.
Good job, Cheyanne

The legal drinking age in Poland is 18, but many people can obtain alcohol as young as 13-15 years old. Many Poles start drinking as young teenagers, and by the time they are in their late 20s-early 30s they walk better drunk than any American/Canadian. They are big on vodka (but not as big as Russia, Spain, or France)and they only drink it in shots and in moderation. Vodka is usually used for weddings, birthdays, or any other special event. They drink whiskey more than vodka. They drink whiskey in sips, and isn't concidered as fancy as vodka. Parents use whiskey to pacify babies and to help children with colds and chills.
ReplyDeleteWhat is very difficult but very important expecially in this play is people noises. We need to constantly talk to each other as we would in real life. During the course of the play we become a very close knit group; it comes to a point where we are family and take care of each other. When Billy leaves Nate in the Factory he betrays this relationship. We need to show the audience that what Billy did to Nate is unforgivable in the eyes of the other strikers.
ReplyDeletePaige needs to not walk like a robot during the train slow motion scene. Accents are getting better and more consistent so that's good! Remember to move on the beats of the song and sing along with every song! Cooper's stage does have a dead spot center stage so Hayden, Jared, Ty, Tucker, Hannah, Graham, and Savannah that are all in the center at some piont, need to make sure they are loud
ReplyDeleteDuring the train scene it is very diffivult to hear the beats under all of the train noises, so if we could make those beats a little mor prominent I believe it would help the scene. We also really need to work on remembering which song comes after which line. Other aspects we need to start working on is to show the different seasons throughout the play and showing how we progressively get more and more tired of striking.
ReplyDeleteWe need to make people see that time is passing. We need to see that months are going by in just minutes. It I will be hard but it will really help during contest. We also need to figure out who needs to hold signs at certain times. If everyone has a sign then we can't see your faces.
ReplyDeleteThe train fight scene is one of those scenes that will either make or break us (let's hope we do it well). If we can get the movements down it should look good but if we can't it won't matter if we do everything else perfect we won't advance anywhere because that is a crucial scene.
ReplyDeleteYAY! I'm so pumped about this play. Nate, you need to hang on to your flask like it's your cell phone. You never leave anywhere without it. It's your vice. And I need to make sure to notice that. When we make up, there needs to be a moment when you set down your flask. I need to react way more with you. Make me want to cry out of fear. Your eyes should be filled with anger when I accuse you.
ReplyDeleteDuring the train fight scene everyone has to make a great effort in the freezes. Freezes can make it look really good or really bad, and so we all need to freeze at the same time.
ReplyDeleteFrom what i read you guys are doing alright keep working on your accents try not to drop them a good way to prevent it is go around talking in it keep listening to your CDs and watching your movies and keep working you'll get it down just keep moving forwards
